This attractive flower mosaic has been created from an old saucer and side plate. I have carefully nipped and shaped each petal by hand from a pretty pink china saucer. As I have used the curve of the saucer the petals have a small rise at their tips giving the mosaic a slight 3D effect. The leaves were part of a design on a side plate which I thought would be perfect for this piece so I nipped and shaped them whole. I used stainless steel ball chain to create the stem and the light seems to reflect from each little silver coloured ball when in the sun. At the centre of the flower is a sparkle gem rescued from a bracelet and I think adds an extra touch of elegance.
The mosaic measures approx 8 cm wide by 16 cm tall. A sage coloured gross-grain ribbon has been attached to enable the plaque to hang but it would look equally as nice propped on a shelf.
A lovely little gift for a friend or relative and would make an ideal house warming present to brighten up any home and a long lasting alternative to real flowers.
All my mosaics are handmade and therefore unique which definatley makes them Mosaics to Treasure.
