A eye-catching mosaic using recycled fine china.
The petals in the daisy flowers have been nipped from a fine china plate and the centre of the flowers are from reclaimed coloured beads.
The green edge of the heart has been taken from a rim of a plate and the rest of the colours in the heart are the remaining colours in the plate. The black surround 'tiles' are taken from a black fine china teacup. Because of this they have a slight curve which catch the light.
I chose a black grout and painted the back and sides in black acrylic paint.
The plaque measures 15 cm by 15 cm and has a little hook on the reverse to hang by.
A lovely alternative unique gift for many occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and thank yous. Did you know that a 20th Wedding Anniversary is celebrated by traditionally giving china gifts and this would be perfect.
Of course you don't have to give this as a gift, you could keep it for yourself.
Although I am very conscious to file any sharp edges due to the nature of using recycled china for mosaic careful handling should be taken at all times incase any sharp edges remain. My mosaics are not toys and should not be handled by children.
